Today, we celebrate our beloved composer's birthday. While the official date is recorded as February 22nd, 1810, Chopin himself spoke of his birthday as March 1st.
Regardless of the date, Chopin's impact on music is undeniable. His compositions, from moving nocturnes to dazzling études, showcase his genius and profound expression.
To celebrate Chopin's birth, laureate of the Fifth Canadian Chopin Piano Competition Eric Guo will perform two livestreamed recitals in Poland.
Eric will first perform at Zelazowa Wola, Chopin's place of birth, at 6AM EST, March 1st, 2024.
Not an early bird? Not to worry, Eric will also perform at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall at 1PM EST.
Both recitals will also be available for viewing after the livestreams.
These two performances follow our Chopin Salon on February 25th at the John Paul II Polish Cultural Centre where Eric performed Chopin's 24 Preludes, Op. 28. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
