Mina Stefanovic is a 14 year old pianist from Vancouver, Canada. She began playing piano at the age of four and has been studying with Dr. Libby Yu since 2023. Mina has received recognition from Kiwanis and VAYA music festivals, including the Senior Piano Mozart Diploma Scholarship from Kiwanis in 2024. She placed first in the Pacific International Music Festival Senior Category in 2023. Additionally, Mina received first prize in the Canadian Music Festival in 2024. In 2024, Mina was a semi-finalist in the Seattle International Piano Competition. Mina has gained experience as an orchestral pianist with the Richmond Orchestra, and has played harp and percussion parts in two of their concerts. Mina is currently pursuing her ARCT certificate, and received first class honours with distinction in RCM 9 and 10 examinations. In addition, Mina is an avid chamber musician, having performed a multitude of different chamber repertoire, including the Beethoven Piano Trio with the Pacific Chamber Music Academy and the Schumann and Dvorak Piano Quintet with the SCHMUSA camp. During the 2023-24 school year, Mina organized and performed four 45-minute concerts at a senior home in her community, with works ranging from Bach preludes and fugues and Chopin nocturnes to iconic movie soundtracks and violin and clarinet ensemble pieces. Apart from piano, Mina plays cello in the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Intermediate division, frequently participates in math competitions, and competes in track and field.
