Marcus Yi, born in Toronto, Canada, 11 years old, has shown an unprecedented passion in playing the piano since age five. His musical performance talent was soon discovered by winning frequently the first place through various local and international piano competitions including Toronto Kiwanis Music festival, North York Music Festival, Unionville Music Festival, OMYI International, Crescendo International, GOCAA International. Marcus was honored to perform at Carnegie Hall by winning 2020 America protégé, and received awards as the Most Promising Pianist at UMC, under Age 9 Achievement award at NYMF.
At age 10, Marcus has joined The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists of the Royal Conservatory Canada, under the tutelage of Dr. Michael Berkovsky. At age 11, Marcus performed the Mozart k488 concerto as the piano soloist with OYMCO orchestra, and was invited to perform at Toronto Summer Music festival. unlocks his talents in other fields, including math, art and chess.
