Chen started playing the piano at the age of 5. He studied with Dr. Michael Berkovsky. He has completed the ARCT with First Class Honors at the age of 13, and has joined multiple regional competitions, earning multiple scholarships and 1st prizes. This includes the North York Music Festival, Kiwanis Music Festival in both Guelph and Toronto, Peel Music Festival, Hamilton Music Festival, Unionville Music Festival, and 2nd prize in the OMFA (2024). Chen has also won gold in the Steinway Piano Competition in 2021. He won 1st prize in several international competitions, including the Sea to Sky International Piano Competition (2023), Orbetello International Music Competition (2024). He was also invited to perform in Carnegie Hall. Aside from competitions, he has also helped his community. Performing in the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and helping raise money to The Hospital for Sick Children (Sickkids Hospital) to bring joy and happiness.
