Andrew (Sijie) Li, 16, is a Hong Kong-Canadian pianist based in Boston. Li is an active performer with recent performances at Jordan Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Jeanne Wagner Theatre, and his concerto debut with Alastair Willis at the Wiener Konzerthaus. He has also performed for NPR's From the Top and PBS SoCal. As a guest artist, he made his debut at the Endless Mountain Festival, with the festival orchestra under Stephen Gunzenhauser and concluded the Spring season of Nashua Chamber Orchestra with David Feltner.
Li moved to Boston in 2022 and is currently studying under the joint-studio of Wha Kyung Byun and Dang Thai Son at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School while also attending Walnut Hill School for the Arts. He joined the Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy at the Royal Conservatory of Music in 2020 under Michael Berkovsky, privately studying with Dang Thai Son. He has studied piano with Alexander Moutouzkine since he was 10 years old.
Li is a prize-winner of Bösendorfer and Yamaha USASU International Piano Competitions, Thomas & Evon Cooper Competition, Classicalia Global Televised Competition, Chopin International Competition in Hartford, NEC Preparatory School Concerto Competition, Miami Music Festival Concerto Competition, and Canadian International Competition, among others. He has participated at the Gina Bachauer Piano Festival, Frost Chopin Academy, Morningside Music Bridge, and Joseph Gingold Chamber Music. Li serves the community as a member of the Back to Bach Organization.
