Since 2009, Canadian pianist Coco Ma has competed and performed across the globe as a soloist, chamber musician, and with orchestras such as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Among other honors, she has been named as a Lang Lang International Music Foundation Ambassador, a prizewinner at the Canadian Chopin Competition, a CBC Top 30 Young Classical Musician to Watch, and a National Public Radio Jack Kent Cooke Scholar for outstanding musical leadership.
For a decade she attended the pre-college program at the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School before continuing her studies at the Juilliard School, Yale School of Music, and Yale College, where she currently majors in Cognitive Science. She is incredibly grateful to her countless mentors, including Emanual Ax, Boris Slutsky, Veda Kaplinsky, Dang Thai Son, James Anagnoson, Michael Berkovsky, Arshalouise Nersessian, Lang Lang, and many others.
Besides performing and composing, she has also published several fantasy novels for young adults such as the SHADOW FROST Trilogy.
